  39.                 On Sunday  November 13th, 1994 we will have the NE DXCC Dinner 
  40. in Dedham, MA. This will be the 42nd annual event for all those interested in 
  41. DX and related aspects of ham radio.
  42. The early birds will arrive by 10:30 for coffee and danish, we will have a 
  43. couple of guest speakers for the morning session. DXCC and WAZ card checking 
  44. will be done on site. Dinner will be buffet style at 1:30 with our guest 
  45. speaker, Bob KK6EK of the 3Y0PI DX-Pedition. Things usually break up by 4:00pm.
  46. There will be a raffle with many prizes as well as the grand prize being a 
  47. trip to Dayton 95.
  48. Dinner tickets will be $15p.p.

  152. I just bought a new TH-78A and tried to do the "Crossband Repeater" and
  153. "Beyond Caps/Mars Modifications".
  154. After trying different diode/wire configurations I ended up with:
  155. D3,D4, and W2 removed.
  156. Now I can
  157. RX 50-180MHz, TX 136-180MHz, (VHF)
  158. RX 300-400MHz                (VHF)
  159. RX 400-512MHz, TX 40-512MHZ  (UHF)
  160. But still, I can not receive from 800 to 950 MHz. 
  161. Is this feature not available anymore? Can anybody verify this?

  163. I also tried earlier suggested modifications like
  164. D3,D4 and W1 removed, and
  165. D4,D5 removed
  166. both gave me only extended receive with no extended transmit.
  167.  
  168. Another curiosity: My manual describes the crossband repeater function
  169. for the standard configuration (No diode/wire removed).
  170.  
  171. A second question: Can someone verify whether the only difference between
  172. a TH-78A (American version) and TH-78E (European version) is that in the
  173. "E" version D2 is removed? Do I need an extra tone module for 1750Hz in
  174. order to get into European repeaters or is this a done deal after removing
  175. D2?
